Plunder Hell, Populate Heaven: Why We Build for the Harvest — and How You Can Partner
Every gathering is a rescue mission. Why Daniel and Katie Ziedins build events, tools and outreach for the harvest — and how you can partner with the work through e3 Canada.
The short answer
"Plunder hell and populate heaven" means taking back people the enemy holds captive and bringing them into the Kingdom of God through the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is why Kingdom Event Builders exists: every outreach, worship night and festival is a rescue mission. Daniel and Katie Ziedins have served in street evangelism and outreach since 2014, and you can join the work by praying, training and becoming a monthly ministry partner through their e3 Canada profile.
There is a phrase the evangelist Reinhard Bonnke made famous, and it has burned in our hearts for years: plunder hell and populate heaven. It is not a slogan for a T-shirt. It is a summary of the gospel's purpose. Jesus did not come to make religious people slightly more organized. He came to set captives free.
For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.— 1 John 3:8
Every tool on this site — the planning timeline, the volunteer calculator, the run of show builder, every guide — was built with one picture in mind: a person who does not yet know Jesus, walking into a park, a hall or a street corner, and meeting Him there. Logistics are never the point. People are.
What it means to plunder hell
Jesus described His own ministry as a raid. When He was accused of casting out demons by the devil's power, He answered with a picture of a house being taken back:
How can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.— Matthew 12:29
The "goods" in that house are not things. They are people — sons and daughters made in God's image, held by addiction, shame, fear, religion without life, or simple distance from God. The cross bound the strong man. Our part is to walk into what Jesus has already won and carry the good news to the people still waiting to hear it.
That is why the Church is never on the defensive. Jesus did not say the gates of hell would attack us and fail. He said the opposite:
Upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.— Matthew 16:18
What it means to populate heaven
Plundering is only half the sentence. The goal is not merely to take ground from darkness but to bring people home — to see them rescued, discipled and planted in a local church where they can grow.
Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son.— Colossians 1:13
Heaven throws a party over one person. Jesus said there is joy in heaven over one sinner who repents (Luke 15:7). If heaven celebrates every single name, then every conversation at a welcome table, every prayer at the front of a worship night, and every follow-up text the week after is eternal work.
Why events are a rescue mission
Paul asked a chain of questions that still drives every outreach we plan:
How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent?— Romans 10:14–15
A well-run event answers those questions at scale. It creates a place where people who would never walk into a church building can hear the gospel, see it lived out in love, and be invited to respond. Planning matters because people matter: the follow-up plan decides whether a decision becomes a disciple, and a clear run of show leaves room for the Holy Spirit instead of chaos.
- A community day in a park reaches families who would never attend a Sunday service.
- A worship night gives the curious a place to encounter God's presence for themselves.
- A city-wide festival gathers churches across denominations to proclaim Jesus together.
- Weekly street outreach brings the love of Jesus to people the rest of the city walks past.
The story behind the work
Daniel and Katie Ziedins are Hamilton-based ministry leaders who help people encounter Jesus, equip believers to share their faith, and strengthen Kingdom initiatives across Canada. Their ministry home is called Love Overflow — receiving the love of God and letting it overflow to others.
- Love on Hamilton began in 2014 — weekly street evangelism and care for Hamilton's homeless community.
- Overflow launched in 2022 as a Sunday evening service where the Holy Spirit was given full permission to move.
- Jesus Festival is an annual Hamilton gathering to glorify God — most recently at Gage Park in September 2026.
- Love on The World carries the same outreach to cities beyond Hamilton.
- And a growing network of Kingdom projects — including the free tools and guides on this site — built to equip churches and ministries for the harvest.
The conviction underneath all of it is simple: ordinary believers can live available to God and carry the love of Jesus into ordinary places. The mission is not only evangelism — it is equipping and discipling believers to boldly share their faith themselves.
The partnership: sharing in the reward
Paul thanked the Philippian church for their "fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now" (Philippians 1:5). They did not travel with him, but they shared in everything his ministry produced — because they gave, prayed and stood with him. Scripture treats the people who send as fully part of the mission.
As his part is that goeth down to the battle, so shall his part be that tarrieth by the stuff: they shall part alike.— 1 Samuel 30:24
When David's men returned from rescuing their families, he made it a law in Israel: those who guarded the supplies would share the reward equally with those who fought. That is what partnership is. When someone meets Jesus on a Hamilton street corner, at a festival, or through an outreach planned with these tools, every partner who made it possible shares in that fruit.
Daniel and Katie serve in partnership with e3 Canada, an organization dedicated to equipping believers to evangelize and establish multiplying, life-changing churches around the world. Monthly ministry partners give through their e3 Canada profile.
| Commitment | What it means |

| Monthly updates | A monthly newsletter so partners see what their giving is doing |
Four ways to join the harvest today
- Pray. Jesus told us to pray the Lord of the harvest to send labourers (Luke 10:2). Pray for Hamilton, for Canada, and for the people your church will meet this month.
- Get trained. Evangelism is learned by doing. Daniel and Katie's evangelism training equips ordinary believers to share their faith with confidence.
- Go. Plan an outreach in your own city. The free tools and guides on this site exist so the logistics never stop you.
- Partner. Become a monthly partner and multiply the work beyond what you can reach on your own.
The reward that lasts
Everything we build will eventually be forgotten — websites, events, calculators, all of it. People will not. Every person rescued from darkness and brought into the Kingdom lives forever. That is the only harvest worth building for.
They that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.— Daniel 12:3
The harvest is plentiful. The labourers are few. Let's plunder hell and populate heaven together — in Jesus' name.

Key terms in this guide
- Great Commission
- Jesus' command to His followers to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them and teaching them to obey everything He commanded (Matthew 28:19–20). It is the reason outreach events exist: not attendance, but disciples.
- The harvest
- Jesus' picture of people ready to respond to the gospel: "The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few" (Matthew 9:37). Churches use it for the people an outreach is trying to reach.
- Ministry partner
- Someone who sustains a missionary or ministry worker through regular giving and prayer, sharing in the fruit of the work without going themselves (Philippians 1:5). Many mission workers are fully funded by partners.
- Street evangelism
- Sharing the gospel with people in public places — streets, parks, transit stations — usually in small teams, often alongside practical care like food, prayer and conversation.
